BHPI’s Design Department is staffed with highly trained and experienced design engineers organized into three major sections, each with its specialized scope, namely: Boiler Design Section, HRSG Design Section, and Structural Design Section. All design processes strictly follow an internal quality management system compliant to ISO 9001:2008.
The scope of design covers basic design to detailed design of pressure parts, piping, as well as non-pressure parts, such as ducting and structural. Boiler components are designed following an established company standard which is based on internationally accepted codes and standards such as ASME, JIS, and PED.
Design Department uses a variety of design software for drawing and calculation that greatly improves productivity and quality of design output.
Advanced 3D software for computer-aided design and drafting are utilized to speed up the design process and reduction of errors with the simulation of the actual 3D image where functionality and clashes can be easily checked and adjusted prior to the generation of fabrication drawings. Proprietary Babcock-Hitachi software such as HeatCal is used for the upstream design calculations for Industrial Boilers. Detailed boiler design efficiency is improved with the assistance of a specialized software for boiler design.
