Effective Quality Management System

QA

Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc. (BHPI) has established an organization completely independent from cost and scheduling considerations called Quality Assurance (QA). The QA Department has the authority to establish and implement a Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2008. In order to compliment and support the QMS, several quality processes have been established which meet the requirements of internationally recognized codes and standards such as ASME, METI, JIS, and EN.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of the QMS is undertaken through regular internal quality audit. Annual management review meeting is held to discuss the result of the internal audit and to review the status of the QMS and ensure its continuing suitability and effectiveness in satisfying the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and BHPI's quality policy and objectives.

Quality Process

As a result of the investigation of the cause of nonconforming product, corrective action and preventive action, as applicable, is establish to prevent recurrence of problems of the same nature. Corresponding inspection and test records are prepared as applicable.

All inspection, measuring and test equipment are calibrated prior to use. As applicable, equipment shall be calibrated under standard equipment traceable to the National Standards. In case there is no National Standards given for specific calibration purpose, the basis used for calibration shall be in accordance with established internal calibration procedures.
