DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

          The Design and Engineering Department is responsible for the preparation of complete shop fabrication drawings, materials lists, weight estimates, welding data sheets, etc. for various boiler and allied projects. The Design and Engineering Department is composed of the following sections:

  • Pressure Parts
  • Instrumentation’s and Controls
  • Piping
  • Environmental Engineering Group
  • Non-Pressure Parts/ Steel Structures
  • Combustion Group

          Overseas training in Boiler Design and Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) at BHK, Japan, is on continuing basis. Other engineers have been assigned overseas Singapore, Pakistan, Australia and other countries) to coordinate technical matters between the client and BHK and as a member of the Commissioning Team.

 

OPERATION AND MANUFACTURING

          BHPI manufactures boiler parts in compliance with MITI, ASME, BS and AS Codes depending on the customer’s requirement. Welding plays a pivotal role in the fabrication of pressure and non-pressure parts. For this purpose, BHPI has provided for itself some special application welding techniques and equipment.

  • Automatic Tube Butt Welding Equipment
  • Stud Welding Machine
  • Gantry Water wall Panel Welding Machine
  • Narrow Gap (GMAW) Welding Machine
  • NC Automatic Orbital Tig Welding Machines
 

         BHPI uses the well-established Process Control List (PCL) prior to commencement of the contract work; the Manufacturing Department and Quality Control Section prepared the PCL, that contains the following

  • Sequential process of manufacturing inspection
  • Records requirement
  • Related procedure and instruction points
  • In-house inspection and test points
  • Hold points by IA and/or customer (if necessary)
  • Outside inspection and test points
  • Production Milestone Chart is prepared to be on scheduled and to meet target date


QUALITY CONTROL

          Product quality is assured through the strict implementation of ISO 9002 quality control systems and procedures and 5S Program (Sorting out, Systematizing, Spic and Span, Standardization and Self-Discipline).

          At the start, Babcock-Hitachi K.K.’s Quality Control System was adopted by BHPI. BHPI developed its own quality system and now has

  • ASME Quality Control Manual

Recent Milestone

:: Takuma signed a Letter of Intent for the production of 500 tons of Pressure Parts, last March 22, 2007. Eighteen (18) projects from one company is a testament to BHPI's commitment to quality products and consideration for the customers' needs. BHPI is continuing the objective of expanding and continuously developing closer relationship with its partners.
