BOILER REHABILITATION AND REPAIR
Complete Retubing
Site mobilization for mechanical work started on July 12, 2000 and instrumentation and control work followed on July 25, 2000. Mechanical work included the dismantling of outer casing, insulation and inner casing then boiler tubes were removed portion by portion and subsequently replacing the removed portion with new tubes in order to support the steam drum. Dismantling and installation of boiler tubes included the side and rear wall generating tubes, division wall tubes and furnace side and rear wall tubes. When all tubes were installed and inspected, hydrostatic test was conducted on September 26 and 27 prior to installation of refractory and insulation. Inner casing, insulation and outer casing were completed subsequently. The final part of mechanical work was painting which was completed on October 16, 2000Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc. or BHPI , the country's pioneer water-tube boiler manufacturer successfully completed the rehabilitation of a boiler for a food and beverages plant.
